Staying in Perisher
Accommodation in Australia’s premier ski spot
The Perisher Ski Resort (formerly Perisher Blue) is the jewel in the crown that is the Snowy Mountains – Australia’s highest mountain range. Tucked in southern New South Wales, Perisher is easily accessible from both Sydney and Canberra, making it a consistently popular winter holiday destination for domestic travellers.
If you’re main aim is skiing in Perisher, book an “on-snow” hotel or cabin for the ultimate ease of getting to and fro. Perisher accommodation ranges from hotels and motels to self-contained cabins, cottages and bed and breakfasts.
Break boarding records; not the bank
Peak ski season at Perisher is generally July to August, but shoulder season (June and September) and well into the warmer months are also great times to visit – especially if you’re holidaying on a budget. Perisher has a great range of affordable stays, perfect for singles, couples, families or groups on a snow-bound adventure.
Settle in for a comfortable stay at the Matterhorn Lodge with an over-snow transfer included from the Perisher Ski Tube Terminal to the lodge. Sponars Chalet is great value for money with facilities like an indoor heated pool and ski gear hire on site, while the Salzburg Apartments are a quaint stay with all the modern conveniences you could need.
Come for the snow, stay at the Stables
The Perisher Ski Resort encompasses four distinct villages: Perisher Valley, Smiggin Holes, Guthega and Blue Cow. Dominated by Mount Perisher, peaking at over two kilometres, Perisher enjoys some 12 kilometres of ski fields, more than half of which is perfectly primed for intermediate skiers.
Stables Resort in Perisher Valley is arguably the pick of Perisher hotels. The self-contained apartments vary from studio lofts to family chalets, with full kitchen and laundry facilities as well as spa baths, fire places and heated floors – the perfect treat for your feet after a long day in snow boots.
