Frequently asked questions

What part of Denver should I visit?

If it’s your first time in Denver, Lower Downtown (or LoDo as it’s sometimes referred to) is right in the thick of things. You’ll find a myriad of bars, shops, hotels, attractions and restaurants all within walking distance, making it a super convenient home base. If, however, you’re drawn to arty hubs peppered with industrial-chic breweries, art galleries and boutique lodgings, check out RiNo (River Arts North). If you’re looking for luxury, Cherry Creek is it.

What to take on holiday to Denver?

Denver enjoys roughly 300 sunny days per year, so there’s a fair chance you’ll enjoy some sunshine. The thing you need to know about Denver weather, however, is that it can change, quickly. One day you could be wearing a t-shirt and the next, it’s snowing. Be prepared for all seasons with layers, a lightweight jacket and, of course, comfortable walking shoes. If you’re planning on taking a hike in the mountains, don’t forget your hiking gear.

Where to go on holiday in Denver?

The beautiful thing about Denver is that you can arrive with an empty stomach and itinerary and fill them both pretty fast. Lower Downtown is the ideal base for first-timers to Denver as it’s close to some of the city’s must-see attractions and eateries. If you’re looking for specific sites and attractions to check out, Denver Botanic Gardens, Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre and the Denver Museum of Nature & Science are pretty high on the to-do list!

Where should I stay in Denver to see the mountains?

The Lower Highlands, otherwise known as LoHi or The Highlands, gives you excellent views of the city as well as the mountain peaks. Cherry Creek and Uptown’s City Park are also ideal for mountain gazing.

When is the best time to visit Denver?

Denver enjoys roughly 300 days of sunshine per year, so there really isn’t a bad time to visit. June is the busiest month in Denver, so if you’re keen to avoid the crowds, aim for between March and May or June to August. If you don’t mind the cold, winter in Denver is pretty magical.

What is there to do in Denver?

Catch a baseball game at Coors Field, take a hike in the Rocky Mountains, visit the theatre, eat your way around the city’s culinary melting pot, quench your thirst at one of the many craft breweries, hit the shops for a little souvenir shopping (but maybe skip the ‘I got high in the Mile High City’ t-shirt), go bar hopping in LoDo, meander around the museums, get up close with furry friends at the zoo, and that’s just the beginning! One thing’s for certain, you won’t be bored in Denver.
